Built Around Your Specification.

KernsTech Engineering connects standard product options with the configuration that fits your optical system.

Start with the parameters you already know—wavelength, optical power, fiber type, polarization, configuration, connector, package and quantity. We use those inputs to identify a standard product match, a configurable variant, or a requirement that needs custom review.

Turn application requirements into a purchasable configuration.

The purpose of engineering review is not to add complexity. It is to make the commercial quotation match the optical requirement before an order is placed.

01

Wavelength & bandwidth

Center wavelength, operating band and wavelength pair for WDM or hybrid devices.

532 · 633 · 780 · 980 · 1030 · 1064 · 1310 · 1480 · 1550 · 1950 · 2000 nm
02

Optical power

Average power, pulse conditions and the power class that affects isolator, WDM, circulator or fiber-laser component selection.

mW · W · high-power review
03

Fiber & polarization

SM, PM or special fiber requirements, polarization behavior and axis-related requirements where applicable.

SM · PM · ER · axis orientation
04

Optical function

Isolation, routing, splitting, combining, wavelength multiplexing, polarization control or multiple functions in one hybrid device.

Isolator · circulator · WDM · coupler · PBS/PBC
05

Package & interface

Package footprint, bare fiber or connectorized interface, pigtail length and mechanical constraints.

Package · connector · pigtail
06

Quantity & application

Prototype or recurring requirement, plus the system context needed to avoid selecting a near-match component for the wrong job.

Engineering review

Match the optical requirement first.

Wavelength, power, fiber, polarization, interface and package are reviewed together so the quotation describes the intended configuration.

Production handoff

Confirm before production.

Where a standard datasheet is not an exact match, the remaining configuration is identified before the commercial order is released.

Three ways a requirement can be resolved.

Not every inquiry needs a custom device. We first try to match the requirement to the simplest technically suitable path.

Fastest path

Standard product match

The required wavelength, power, fiber and package already align with an existing KernsTech product and datasheet.

Most common review

Configured standard

The base optical design is standard, while one or more ordering parameters need confirmation or adjustment.

  • Wavelength / power option
  • Fiber / connector option
  • Package / pigtail option
Application-specific

Custom / hybrid review

Use when the required optical functions, interface or combination is not represented by an existing standard configuration.

  • Multiple functions in one device
  • Special wavelength or fiber
  • System-level fit review

Where KernsTech engineering review matters most.

Our product portfolio is strongest where polarization, optical power, wavelength routing or compact integration makes passive-component selection more sensitive to the surrounding system.

From initial parameters to a confirmed quotation.

01

Send the known specification

Share the parameters you already have. A complete drawing is not required to start.

02

Match the product family

Identify whether an existing isolator, WDM, coupler, circulator, combiner or hybrid architecture fits.

03

Review the gaps

Flag any parameter that differs from the standard datasheet instead of silently forcing a near match.

04

Confirm configuration

Align the technical description, ordering options and commercial quotation.

05

Quotation & production

Proceed once the configuration and quantity are clear.

Have a non-standard requirement?

Send the parameters you know. We will use the specification to route you to the closest product family and identify what still needs confirmation before quotation.
