PM vs Standard Optical Circulator
Choose a polarization-maintaining circulator when the optical path requires polarization preservation; choose another circulator family when polarization maintenance is not required.
Use this guide when the application or some target parameters are known but the final component specification still needs to be narrowed before RFQ.
Selection logic
Check polarization requirement
PM circulators are selected when the system needs a defined polarization axis and extinction ratio.
Check optical power
The 1030 nm PM circulator is a low-power 50 mW product. High-power routing requires a TGG high-power circulator.
Then confirm wavelength and package
Match the circulator center wavelength and mechanical package to the optical system.
Quick comparison
