Mating interfaces
Fiber adapters align two compatible connector ferrules in a panel or coupler. Connector type, polish and mounting footprint define the mating arrangement; simplex and duplex formats provide different port densities.
Inquiry choices · custom configurations by drawing
| Interface | Polish | Format | Mounting selection | Inquiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SC–SC | UPC | Simplex | Flanged / snap-in | Inquire |
| SC–SC | APC | Simplex | Flanged / covered | Inquire |
| SC–SC | UPC | Duplex | Flanged / snap-in | Inquire |
| SC–SC | APC | Duplex | Flanged / covered | Inquire |
| Parameter | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Connector interface | SC matched mating pair |
| Port format | Simplex or duplex |
| End-face selection | UPC or APC; use matching connectors |
| Alignment sleeve | Specified with the adapter grade |
| Mounting | Panel cut-out, flange and fixing method |
| Protection | Dust cap or shutter option |
Mounting drawings and optical acceptance values are specified for the selected adapter. UPC and APC interfaces are not mixed in a mating pair.
Simplex accepts one connector pair. Duplex combines two optical mating paths in one housing.
Similar-looking adapters can use different flanges and retention clips. The panel opening and fixing method define the mechanical fit.
